Businesses invited to discover how to connect and recruit with “pipeline of talent” at the University of Leicester

Business Breakfast: Discover how your organisation can connect and recruit from the University of Leicester

East Midlands business owners are invited to discover how best to access the “pipeline of talent” available at the University of Leicester at a Business Breakfast taking place later this month.

The event at Space Park Leicester on Thursday 23 June will showcase the various opportunities for organisations to collaborate with the University of Leicester to connect and access the pool of talent available.

During the morning there will be representations from a range of different businesses sharing how they have engaged with the University to access student talent. Case studies will include: Providing time and support to nurture talent with projects and activities, through to recruitment services to attract and employ applicants.

Tom Ledgard, Head of Placement and Graduate Outcomes at the University of Leicester, said: “The aim of the event is to share with businesses what is possible and take forward discussions on how the university can support businesses to access the pipeline of talent and identify employees of the future in an effective and efficient way.”

The event will take place at Space Park Leicester on Thursday 23 June 2022 from 8:30am through to 10:30am. Refreshments including tea, coffee and juice will be available along with pastries and fruit.

The welcome and introduction will take place at 9:00am followed by an overview of the routes in support available for businesses presented by University of Leicester Placement Manager Susie Brown. Other topics being covered include: Innovation projects with the Leicester Innovation Hub, employer projects in academic modules, part-time work using the University of Leicester’s employment agency and internship or placements to take on a student for a short term role. The recruitment of students once they have completed their degree programme will also be covered.

Attendees will also have the chance to ask questions to university and business representatives in a Q&A session at 10:05am before information is provided about how to take forward an interest in collaborating with the university.

There will also be the opportunity for businesses to network with each other.
