Organisations given more opportunity to access Space Park Leicester ecosystem

Space Park Leicester, the University of Leicester’s £100 million space, research, innovation and teaching hub, has made it easier than ever for start-ups, growing organisations and large establishments to access their state-of-the-art facilities, networks and expertise.
Officially launched at the UK’s largest and most influential space industry event, Space-Comm Expo, the Community Membership scheme provides an affordable route for organisations to participate, connect and collaborate.

Will Wells, Chief Executive Officer at Space Park Leicester, said:
“Space Park Leicester offers a range of community and partnership options designed to reflect the different ways organisations engage with the UK space ecosystem.
These options recognise that not all organisations need the same level of physical presence, investment, or integration, and that many are at early or exploratory stages of working in or alongside the space sector.
“A recent addition to this structure is the Community membership, introduced to provide a low-cost and accessible way to engage with Space Park Leicester.”
The Community Membership option is intended for individuals and organisations who want to stay informed, build connections, and access support without committing to a resident or long-term partnership model. Members will have access to an online platform, networking and knowledge-sharing events, funding and opportunity updates, and limited support around intellectual property, bid feasibility and pitching. The Community tier is particularly relevant for start-ups, researchers, students, freelancers, SMEs, and organisations from adjacent sectors who are exploring how space technologies or applications may be relevant to their work.
The Partner membership builds on this foundation and is aimed at organisations that are actively growing their activity within the space sector. In addition to Community benefits, Partners can access shared workspace, increased visibility through PR and co-branding activity, and more structured introductions across industry, academia and government. This option also provides support with talent attraction and access to strategic events, making it suitable for organisations seeking closer collaboration and a stronger presence within the Space Park Leicester environment.
Top tier Strategic partnerships are designed for organisations seeking a deeper, long-term relationship with Space Park Leicester. These partnerships typically involve dedicated office space and a higher level of integration, including innovation collaboration, policy and research engagement, and tailored support around skills and talent. Strategic Partners work closely with the Space Park Leicester team to align activities with shared objectives and sector priorities.
Will added: “Together, these options provide a flexible framework that allows organisations to engage at a level that matches their needs and capacity. The introduction of the Community membership ensures that access to the Space Park Leicester network is not limited by cost or scale, while still providing a clear route for organisations that wish to develop their involvement over time.” To find out more about Space Park Leicester’s Community Membership Scheme visit: space-park.co.uk/community
